Advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) are increasingly being leveraged by threat actors in creative social engineering attacks against individuals and organizations to conduct fraud. This presentation will outline various aspects of AI with emphasis on the recent evolution of deep fakes. Examples of visual and audio deep fakes will be shared and analyzed. While acknowledging various beneficial uses of this technology, the presenter will examine recent cases where deep fakes are already being utilized to conduct fraud. Measures which organizations may incorporate for the verification and authentication of critical information will be shared and discussed.
