Matthew is a Directorof Incident Responseat CrowdStrike, specializing in the response and investigationof large-scale cyber intrusions. Matthew has 20+ years ofcyber security,computer systems,and networkingexperience in boththe public andprivate sectors.Basedout of Columbia, Maryland, Matthewleads incident response efforts and works collaboratively with outside counsel, customer executives, and response teams to contain and investigation incidents.Prior to joining CrowdStrike, Matthewwas the Director of Advisory Services at Anchor Technologies, leading an expertteam responding to incidents, architecting technical security solutions, executingred team exercises, assessing security programs, and advising clientsinbuildingand maturing theircybersecuritystrategies.Matthew provided technical leadership in penetration testing and technical assessments of networks and applications for clients in the real estate, legal, and healthcare sectors, among others.Previously Matthew was an information security consultant at Booz Allen, leading incident response and systems security assessments, as well as technology development for US government and private sector clients.Prior tothat Matthew served as the Information Systems Security Officer for the National Security Division at the US Department of Justice, where heled andDOJ and inter-agency efforts in systems security and secure communications.Matthewobtained anMSin Computer Systemsfrom the University of Maryland GlobalCampus, where he is currently anadjunct professor in the CyberSecurity program. Matthewhas been a speaker at many events including ISACA, ISC2,NSA’s Information Assurance Symposium, and BSides.Matthewholdsnumerous SANS certifications in systems security, forensics, and penetration testing, as well as theCISSP,CISA,CEH,and Security+ certifications.Matthew is also a veteran of the US Army, where he served as an infantry and military intelligence officer.
