Spencer Wilcox is senior director, cybersecurity & technology risk for NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NEE). Mr. Wilcox joined NextEra Energy in 2022 and is responsible for the delivery of the company’s organizational cybersecurity strategy, which includes the governance, architecture and operations of cybersecurity products and services across NextEra Energy’s fleet of generation, transmission, distribution and commercial assets.
Mr. Wilcox is an experienced utility industry veteran, with senior leadership experience in the strategic delivery of technology, cybersecurity and physical security services. He actively engages in steering security and policy direction for the utility industry with his chair roles in the Cyber Mutual Assistance Program as well as the Edison Electric Institute’s Security Technology and Policy Executive Advisory Committee. Mr. Wilcox holds certifications in cybersecurity, IT
audit and physical security and is working to complete his Ph.D. from New Mexico Tech.
