Cory Simpson has over twenty years of experience in government, the military, and the private sector at the intersection of national security, cybersecurity, law, and strategy. He is known globally for developing and delivering simple and eloquent solutions to the most complex and novel challenges.

Cory served on active duty in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 2004 to 2016 and continues to serve in the Army Reserve as a legal advisor to the U.S. Army Cyber Command. Cory has spent most of his military career as a general counsel in the special operations and airborne communities, a prosecutor, and a national security law advisor. His highly decorated service includes multiple combat tours, leadership roles, and extensive trial and advocacy experience.

Cory is the founder and CEO of Gray Space Strategies, a professional service and strategic advisory firm in Washington, D.C.; a senior advisor to the CSC 2.0—a non-profit and non-partisan entity that continues the work of the U.S. Cyberspace Solarium Commission; an adjunct senior fellow in the National Security and Technology program at the Center for New American Security; and an adjunct professor at Clemson University. In addition to these roles, Cory also serves on several advisory boards.

Cory earned a Master of Laws, Military Law from The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School; a Juris Doctorate from West Virginia University College of Law; and a BA in accounting with a minor in philosophy from Transylvania University.
